Paper
Recycling Guidelines
Blue bins are currently
located in departmental offices, computer labs, and near copiers
and printers around the entire campus.
Packing
peanuts
can be recycled in the Dow building on every floor. Look for the
can labeled for packing peanut recycling and put them in there!
Phi Sigma Biological Honor Society takes them to the Information
Technology where they are reused! Containers are also located
in the loading docks of other buildings.
MTU also quietly recycles
scrap metal, used motor oil, Ni-Cd batteries, car batteries, fluorescent
light tubes, and computer components. However, MTU does NOT currently
recycle cardboard, glass or other recyclables (plastic, tin cans,
etc.)
We ask that people NOT empty paper from home into the blue
recycling bins or carts because that creates more work for the
custodial and grounds crews. Instead, please take this
opportunity to dispose of your recylable paper when we have
volunteers to help. We plan to continue these regularly
scheduled drop-offs monthly during the school year and summer.
Paper generated on campus can go into any blue recycling bin. (Click
