Day 1 (Thursday, February 24)

Visit in Environmental Studies Class at Finlandia University, Suzanne VanDam is instructor, location is Rick Loduha’s art design studio.  Global Footprint Article  Living Planet Report

4:30 - 5:15
Meet with student group representatives back at Michigan Tech, MUB Alumni Lounge A.
This session is open to all students at Michigan Tech. Invitations have been sent to student organizations and several classes, but ALL students are welcome. Although Susan will start things off, the conversation will be driven by your questions and your comments for discussion.

5:30 - 6:30
Dinner and informal meeting with Environmental Sustainability Committee

7:00 - 8:30
Evening snow shoe hike with ESC members (optional)


Day 2 (Friday, February 25)

9:30-10:00 Interview with Alex Reed of TV6

10:30-11:30
Meeting with MTU Sustainable Futures Institute faculty & students, DOW 875  (http://www.sustainablefutures.mtu.edu/)
This session is designed for SFI students and faculty. The focus will be on how the ecological footprint contributes to research/knowledge, as well as research opportunities related to the ecological footprint.

12:00-1:00 Brown Bag Lunch with MTU BA4790 Ecology and Organizations (instructor is Dr. Christa Walck) and other students, MUB Alumni Lounge A.

This brown bag lunch is open to EVERYONE. Please bring your lunch (we'll provide mixed beverages and a small dessert) and join Susan Burns for an informal discussion about ecological footprinting.

1:00-3:00 Break

3:00 - 4:00 "Living within the limits: The Ecological Footprint" Environmental Engineering department graduate seminar - Global Footprint Article  Living Planet Report
This seminar is open to EVERYONE. Following the seminar, a workshop on
footprint calculations and a roundtable discussion will take place in the
Dow Building's 8th Floor Atrium. One may attend the workshop without
attending the seminar.

4:15 - 5:15 Meeting with MTU Provost, VP of Student Affairs, VP of Administration, Director of Facilities Management

5:15-6:00 Break

6:00 - 7:00/7:30 Lighten Up: Explore Sustainability with the Ecological Footprint - Early evening presentation to public, M&M U115. (Bldg. #12 on Campus Map: Parking available off US41 in front of Douglas Houghton Hall, Bldg. #31)

7:30-9:00 Dinner with MTU graduate student council members and select faculty members.
This casual dinner is for MTU graduate students. Questions about this session can be directed to Justin Priestman or David Tobias
